The FAIRstart program for foster parents is designed to support foster parents, to uncover their knowledge and to train professional caregiving practices for young children placed outside home.
It has been designed for easy use – the training will be a part of your daily work.
You can use the fifteen sessions whenever you have time and practice what you learned between the sessions.
When you start, first fill out the scorecard – this will give you a lot of valuable information about your foster care and help you plan your work. Then go on with the sessions – starting with session one. If you are few people, you can use the computer screen. If you are more people, a projector is a good idea.
A session will take you through some child care theory and make you understand what this theory means for practical child care. There are many video examples showing theory in practice.
